Maureen is a freelance writer based in the metro area of Omaha, Nebraska, U.S.A. She and Richard Wieler have collaborated to write a memoir, "Chasing Normality," which describes his life after he contracted polio as a teenager. He was left permanently and almost totally paralyzed. Through much perseverance, however, he went on to become a lawyer in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, arguing before the Missouri Supreme Court.
